On October 6th, I attended a fashion event for Angela Wang's debut collection with two of my friends. The event was called "The X Party," named after her brand, "X". I can honestly say that the clothes were beautiful, the venue was very trendy, and the designer was genuinely friendly!
In this blog post I am going to give a run-down of what I did at the event and share what I enjoyed most!
Hair and Makeup
At the fashion event, there was a table where you could get your hair and makeup done. My friend Olivia was one of the makeup artists working the event, so I started off by getting my hair and makeup done.
Trying on the Clothes
One of my favorite parts of this event was that we were able to try on the clothes from Angela's new line. There was a giant room filled with clothes, shoes, and purses! Angela had stylists working who would help pick out outfits for the guests.
Modeling the Clothes
By far the coolest part of this entire event was that Angela had us model some of her pieces! There was a white backdrop we used while a professional photographer took photos of us. Another amazing part of this experience was how nice everyone was. While I was being photographed, girls I'd met for the first time that night were hyping me up by telling me I looked great. The atmosphere at this fashion event was very positive.
Here is a picture of me & my friends in the outfits we wore for the shoot. I'm wearing a simple black dress with cutouts on the shoulders (one of Angela's designs).
Models on Angela's Official Website?!?!
Yep, you're reading that right! The photos taken by the photographer were added to Angela's official clothing site! So I guess you could say we're models now ;)
10/10 Would Go Again!
I can honestly say that attending "The X Party" fashion event was one of the best experiences I've had since moving to Chicago. My hair and makeup was done for free, I tried on and modeled some of the clothes, I was able to talk with the designer, and I ended up being featured as a model on Angela's website! I'm so thankful I was able to attend this event and experience something I never thought I'd be able to!

I'm going to be completely honest, my life usually isn't this exciting. On weekdays I go to school, do homework, and sleep (a lot!). But who wants to read about that? So instead here's a rundown of what I did when my family came to visit me in Chicago on Friday!
Lincoln park Conservatory
After sleeping in and eating my usual Siggi yogurt, I headed for a picnic lunch with the fam, then walked over to the Lincoln Park Conservatory. It was so nice to see a lot of greenery and nature considering I live in the city where it's all skyscrapers and horrible traffic jams.
Biking Along the Lakefront
Next my fam and I rode bikes along the lakefront. I really enjoyed it, except for the fact that I'm very out of shape and could barely ride a half mile on my bike before needing to stop and take a breather.
Next we headed over to Navy Pier to end our trip around downtown Chicago. My sis, our friend Olivia, and I walked around Navy Pier for about 40 minutes trying to find a place that sold ice cream. We ended up finding a McDonald's with soft serve ice cream... not quite what I had had in mind though :(
Attending a Fraternity Event
To end the night I went to this boujee hotel downtown for some event for my friend Alex's fraternity (I was honestly a tad confused but I think it was a celebration of his chapter officially becoming a recognized fraternity?). Any who, I had a good time supporting my friend.
Gossip Girl & Dunkin' Donuts
After that I went home, bought a donut from Dunkin' Donuts, and ate it while watching Gossip Girl in bed (the best way to spend a Friday night, am I right?!)
hey it's Steffi, and this is my website where I post fashion, travel, and lifestyle blog posts. Enjoy!
