So it's Wednesday and you've been wearing that same sweatshirt since Monday- some might say you're in a style slump. Don't be embarrassed, we've all been there! I myself have fallen victim to a style slump as recently as two weeks ago. We all go through it, but if you're ready to get excited about fashion again and fall back in love with expressing yourself through your outfits then keep reading!
Here are my 5 tips for getting out of a fashion slump:
TIP No. 1: GO ON pinterest
The first thing I do once I realize I'm in a style slump is go onto Pinterest and look at my fashion boards to get myself re-inspired and excited to dress up again.
tip no. 2: have a fashion show
Now I don't mean have a full on fashion show with a catwalk, paparazzi, and celebrity guests. I mean turn on some good music, raid your wardrobe, and dance around your room in some of your favorite looks. Nothing hypes me up like listening to music while trying on my most fashionable outfits, so my second tip is to throw a mini "fashion show" in your bedroom.
TIP No. 3: do it for the gram
When all else fails, dress up cute so you can take nice photos for your Insta! When I have photoshoots with my friends, it motivates me to wear an outfit that represents me and my style since I'll likely be posting the pictures we take on social media.
TIP No. 4: SURROUND YOURSELF WITH INSPiration
I surround myself with style inspo by having a clothing rack in my room. It lets me display my favorite pieces, and also doubles as a rack where I can hang outfits for the week if I'm short on time and want to plan my outfits in advance.
Another way I surround myself with inspiration is by hanging two fashion collage/vision boards above my bed. If you want to learn how to make your own fashion vision board then click the button below to see my tutorial!
TIP NO. 5: GO SHOPPING
Now I'm not advising that you go out and buy a whole new wardrobe, but sometimes buying one or two staple pieces can kickstart your passion for styling. I recommend finding a unique jacket, pair of boots, or purse to amp up your wardrobe and get you excited about what you wear again.
Next time you're in a style slump, test out these 5 tips and you'll be back to being your fashionable self in no time!
Fall is usually the time of year when we start getting lazy with our outfits- the weather's chilly and let's be honest, sweatpants and an XL hoodie seems to be the move. But who says a new season has to result in a boring wardrobe? If you're looking for some exciting pieces to amp up your fall wardrobe then keep reading to learn more about the top 5 fashion trends of fall!
NO. 1: SNAKESKIN PRINT
Animal prints are definitely having a moment. While the Cheetah Girls popularized the iconic cheetah print, there's a new design to keep an eye out for- snakeskin. Snakeskin adds an edgy pattern to your outfit while being less predictable of an animal print than leopard or cheetah.
NO. 2: I.AM.GIA PIXIE COAT
It is so nice that warm, cozy coats are actually in style again! By wearing this coat, you don't have to sacrifice comfort for fashion. The authentic I.AM.GIA pixie coat goes for about $110 so I've also included a dupe of this jacket for a much more affordable price (only $40!).
NO. 3: SOCKS + HEELS
Now this trend is a lot more high fashion, but can still be pulled off in your day-to-day look. The key is to have at least one solid colored item (whether it's the socks or the heels). Too many patterns can cause the pieces to clash.
NO. 4: BELTS, BELTS, BELTS!
Belts are the must-have accessory for fall. Wearing a belt is a simple way to spice up an outfit without putting in too much effort. Below I'm showing you guys everything from Gucci belts to waist purses.
NO. 5: CARGO PANTS/JOGGERS
The last fall trend I'm sharing with you guys is cargo pants/joggers. These have steadily risen in popularity, with celebrities such as the Kardashians sporting this comfy yet edgy wardrobe essential.
Now that you know the top 5 trends this fall, you're ready to serve some killer looks this season ;)
