WHAT TO PACK FOR A SUMMER TRIP

hello and happy Saturday! Summer is in full swing and since I just finished up a wonderful vacation, I thought I'd share what I packed for my trip!  I'm leaving out the boring stuff like toothpaste, contacts, and phone chargers and instead focusing on the fun aspect of packing- the clothes!

PACKING TIPS & TRICKS

★ first off, it is important to pack outfits that can transition between warm and cool weather and from daytime to nighttime.  

★ another tip is to make sure you are packing pieces that can be easily mixed and matched with one another.

​★ my favorite tip is to take flat-lay photographs of the outfit combos you are packing so you can visualize all the looks.  ​

​★ I've said this time and time again, but ACCESSORIZING IS EVERYTHING.  Remember to pack bracelets, necklaces, sunglasses, scrunchies, etc.

★ lastly, be sure to think about what activities you'll be doing on vacation, who you're going with, and what type of environment you'll be in (i.e., urban, outdoors, etc.) when picking outfits.

WHAT I PACKED

In retrospect, I think I packed some pretty solid pieces for my vacation.  I travelled all through northern Michigan for about a week and then ended the trip in Mackinac Island for a few days.  The vacation consisted of a combination of outdoor activities (zip lining, biking, swimming), walking around towns, and going out to eat.  Packing a combo of fancier and casual outfits was definitely the way to go for this particular trip.  

Lastly, you can't forget about the slightly less fashionable essentials- i.e. socks, underwear, workout clothes, etc.  I like to make a check list of all clothing items I need to ensure I don't forget any of these less glamorous pieces.
